Below is a list of grocery stores and specialty farms on the island. Hours vary by the season

  • Reliable’s on Circuit Avenue the closest grocery store and a dependable resource for all the basics.

    Sundays: 9:00am – 1:00pm

  • A five-minute walk from the house, Our Market has a dependable selection of wine, beer, liquor, and mixers. They also have ice, and a small but solid selection of chips, crackers, cured meats, and cheeses.

  • Cronig’s has a great selection of local produce and whatever else you could need, and you will also pay handsomely. There are two locations: West Tisbury (up-island) and Vineyard Haven (down-island).

  • Know for their incredible cheese, Grey Barn has a boutique selection of meets, cheeses, and produce.

    Thursday – Monday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

    Tuesday – Wednesday: Closed

  • For those who like a treasure hunt (biking or driving), go find the hole-in-the-wall Mermaid Farm stand at 9 Middle Road in Chilmark. Cash and Venmo accepted at this “honesty box” location, where you can get location meats, cheeses, and produce. If you’re lucky, get a fresh mango lassi or the soft herbed fromage.

  • Morning Glory has excellent fresh produce, prepared foods, and a nursery where you can buy potted herbs and fresh flowers.

  • Go here for a great selection and knowledgable stuff.

  • If you’re heading to Chilmark, check out North Tabor for delicious fresh bread and produce, along with beautiful flowers.

  • This farmstand is another island grower and supporter of local produce.

  • The Net Result has a wide selection of local and imported seafood, and also a takeout menu to enjoy onsite at picnic tables outside or to take away.

  • This location is the largest supermarket on the island.

    Daily: 6:00am – midnight

  • This location is small, and directly across from the Steamship Authority in Vineyard Haven. If you are looking for cleaning and bath supplies, you’ll need to travel to “the back store,” which is a weird little adventure.

  • The Farmers’ Market runs weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, rain or shine, June through October, 9:00am through noon at the Ag. Hall in West Tisbury.
